Punk wedding

Hi all - was just having a sort through of some of my old photos and found this one which had slipped through my blogging net! Part of a fantastic punk wedding order we did for Anita and Osmani the other week. Suh-weet!

Ladybird cupcakes

Well, what are the chances eh? It seems like only the day before yesterday that I was unveiling this month's coccinellidae-related competition cake and here we have a delightful little ladybird themed box for Jacinta. Spooky!

Competition cake - May

Just a quick post to let y'all know that this month's as-yet-nameless cupcake is now up on the site and is plump, ripe and ready for the naming. Think of a funny/cute/clever name suggestion and let us know. In just under a month's time you could be chomping smugly on a box of 24 delicious C&D mini cupcakes and/or admiring them on their delightful mini stand.
Happy naming everyone!

Competition winner - April!

Thanks to all of you who took the time to enter last month's Name the Cupcake competition - it was one of our biggest month's ever in terms of the number of entries. Scrambling to the top of the pack though was Keisha, with her winning suggestion Crumb 'n' Miranda. Quite a few people came close with Carmen Miranda and slight variations thereon, but we felt Keisha's had the winning edge (it includes the word crumb! Genius!).
One of my sadly quite few minions will be in touch to hook Keisha up with her prize - 24 fab mini cupcakes and a little stand to show them off on. In the meantime don't be too disheartened if you didn't manage to scoop the free cakes - this month's competition starts...right... Now!

C&D in Cosmo Bride magazine

Morning all. Those of you looking to tie the knot could do a lot worse than pick up a copy of this month's Cosmopolitan Bride magazine - it's packed with exciting features, ideas and other great wedding-y stuff. Hmm? Why, yes, it does also have our cupcakes in! Fancy that... Available from all good newsagents now, as they used to say.

A very special and congraulatory hello to Amanda and Lucy, both of whom tied the knot with their respective fellas recently and both of whom were kind enough to send us some pics of the C&D wedding cupcakes (Amanda, chocolate and red; Lucy, fuchsia and black).

Congratulations ladies!

New scrapbook page!

Happy Good Friday everyone! Those of you who like looking at pictures of cupcakes arranged in grid format might like to know that the C&D site now has a brand spanking new scrapbook page. Of course, most of the images will have made their début right here on my little blog, but it's nice to have them all in one place in case you missed any...

C&D launches new topcake; world changes, subtly, forever

Hi all. Our wedding topcakes are great for cutting (and they're pretty tasty too), but if you want a more, shall we say, sophisticated looking topcake I'm pleased to announce that we've joined forces with our cake chums over at the Chelsea Cake Shop so we can offer one of their wonderful sugarpaste-iced topcakes as the crowning glory for your cupcake tower. They're available in fruitcake or sponge, and you can find out more over on the main site.
Anyway, sheesh, enough with the corporate announcements; let's get back to the cupcakes...

118 c-a-k-e

Here's some cupcakes we did for some media agency pals of ours ahead of their meeting with a certain directory enquiries company...
You can as them anything apparently. I asked which sprinkles were better - hundreds & thousands, gold balls or pink hearts, to which they replied "hundreds and thousands is better because it is mostly used to add texture to desserts like cookies". Hmm... sprinkles on cookies? Seems wrong to me. Maybe I should have been more specific about the diameter of the gold balls and the shade of the pink hearts...

(More) rainbow cupcakes

Everybody loves cupcakes, right? And everybody, it seems, especially loves rainbow coloured cupcakes... Here's one of several rainbow orders we've done recently, this time for Angie.

C&D on Twitter

Wow - just days after our dramatic (ok, not-very-dramatic) entry to the world of facebook we're at it again... You can now keep abreast of some of the latest goings on via our shiny new Twitter page!
Of course, my blog is still the first place to check for the latest and greatest news, pics and info (dammit!) but, y'know, come here first and then check the Facebook and Twitter pages out afterwards, or, er, whatever. Hmph.
*Shuffles back to sprinkle cupboard*
