Not-so smashing

Hi all. Valentine's Day is always a hectic one, especially if - just after everyone's finished one of the longest night's baking of the year (TM) - a bunch of burly types smash a double plate-glass window in and proceed to steal lots of expensive stuff from your bakery.

So it was to considerable alarm (not the ringing kind, unfortunately) that the guys arrived bright and early this morning to find a lot more shattered glass and considerably fewer computers and bits of equipment than everyone remembered. Unfortunately while a lot of our stuff was all backed up or bolted down a lot of other stuff, including countless photos and other memories, was not.

We're a small team and everyone's worked incredibly hard over the last few years to try to build something great; it hurts to have someone try (physically) to take that away, but we love a challenge, especially if it's cake-related. Our ovens are back on this afternoon and we're going to be doing what we do best, as best we can, over the coming days until we can get everything back together. All our Valentine's cupcakes have either been delivered or are on their way - we haven't dropped a single order - and we're good to go for our regular spots at Covent Garden and the Kings Road this Thursday and Saturday. It might take slightly longer than usual for us to reply to emails/phone calls while we get our systems back online so thanks in advance for your patience; we'll still ensure everyone gets a reply today.
